Our Top Wax Supply Must-Haves

With the launch of the new PLApro Wax Line, Nue Wax, we wanted to put together a quick list of the top products any beginner waxologist should invest in. While there are lots of different waxing supplies out there, you don’t necessarily need to purchase everything you come across (especially when you’re just starting out). Then over time, you’ll branch out past the basics!

Without any further ado, let’s get to the list!

The Essentials Of Wax Supplies:

Hard Wax and Soft Wax

This first one might be obvious, but it’s worth including. Obviously to start waxing, you’ll need some high-quality wax!

There are two types of wax, hard and soft. Both have their uses, advantages, and disadvantages. You’ll likely want to have both on hand so you can offer the widest range of services possible.

Hard Wax

Hard wax, as the name implies, is the harder and thicker of the two options. When warm, it is still thick and must be applied with a spatula or other tool. It then solidifies on the skin and is removed without using a strip.

Hard wax adheres to the hair itself, rather than the skin. This makes it gentle and less painful, especially if you need to go over the same area more than once. You can use hard wax basically anywhere on the body, including the face and intimate areas. However, it is generally not advised to use hard wax on larger areas, as it can break off prematurely after it hardens.

PLApro’s Hard Wax is a great option for waxologists looking to offer general waxing services. The beads melt down to a slightly translucent pink color, allowing you to see through to the hair for a simple, efficient waxing process!

Soft Wax

Your other option is soft wax. Unlike hard wax, soft wax does not harden on the skin. It stays sticky and must be removed with a strip.

Soft wax adheres to both the hair and the skin, so it can be more irritating or painful. However, it can grab finer hairs more easily than hard wax does. This is also a better option for larger areas like the legs and arms.

In addition to our hard wax, we are also proud to offer Soft Wax as part of our Nue Wax Line!

Wax Pot (Wax Melter)

Wax isn’t all that useful until it is melted down, warm, and pliable. That’s where wax pots come into play.

Wax pots are insulated bowls that allow you to control the temperature of the wax and keep it warm for a long period of time. There are both single and double wax pot options, depending on how much wax you need and if you will be using two different types in one service.

The PLApro Wax Pot is available in single and double sizes! Both are insulated and display the temperature digitally, making the waxing process that much easier.

Wax Sticks & Wax Strips (Coming Soon)

While not the most exciting item on this list, wax sticks and strips are still essential in the waxing process.

Sticks are used to pick up and apply wax so the process remains sanitary and safe. Strips are then used to remove soft wax, since it cannot be removed on its own.

We will offer both sticks and strips to make sure the waxing process is as simple as possible. As a plus, our strips are made from 100% bleached cotton (so they won’t leave behind any fibers)!

Waxing Bed (Not Carried Through PLA)

Along with the right products, you’ll need somewhere for your client to lay comfortably! That’s where a high-quality professional spa bed will come in handy. There are a lot of options out there, so you should be able to find one that fits your needs specifically. Make sure the dimensions will fit in your workspace and that it is light enough to be set up or moved by just one person if you work alone.
